SAN CLEMENTE — November 2, 2026. San Clemente’s official construction notice says Metrolink maintenance crews will work between Avenida Calafia and Calle Ariana from 9 p.m. Friday, November 6, until 5 a.m. Monday, November 9, 2026.
What nearby residents could experience
The city warns of construction equipment, backup alarms, machinery vibration and temporary light towers. These are anticipated work impacts, not a report of an accident or an emergency.
Why horns can sound in a quiet zone
San Clemente explains that trains operating through a federally designated quiet zone may still sound horns during maintenance, safety concerns, malfunctioning crossing equipment or the presence of workers near the tracks.
What this notice does not establish
The city does not describe a blanket closure of the entire rail corridor to passengers. Riders should consult their train operator for service disruptions rather than infer cancellations solely from a construction advisory. The schedule can change with field conditions.
